MARLBOROUGH, Mass. - The NEWMAC has announced its Athlete of the Week honorees for the week ending December 7, 2025, and Salve Regina University senior forward Sofia Neary has been selected as the Offensive Player of the Week for women's basketball.

Senior Sofia Neary (Wayne, N.J.) posted a pair of double-doubles (seven in nine games on the season) for the Seahawks in a 2-0 week. The senior captain was the game-high scorer in both wins, including her season-best 31-point performance in a road win against Emmanuel College. Salve Regina rallied from a five-point halftime deficit against Connecticut College, with Neary consistently pouring in nine points in each half. Her 13th rebound of the game secured the one-point victory. Neary averaged 24.50 points per game, to go along with 13.0 rebounds per game.

The Seahawks (3-5, 0-0 NEWMAC) breaks for exams and then Christmas celebration before flying to Las Vegas, Nevada, for the D3hoops.com Classic on December 28-29 with games against Occidental and Amherst.
