Seahawks complete suspended game with 5-2 win

Carozza improves to 5-0 with no earned runs allowed

Kyle Carozza improved to 5-0 on the season with nine strikeouts in seven innings of work
Box Score CAMBRIDGE, Mass. (Wednesday, April 9, 2025) -- #13/#14 Salve Regina University baseball junior Kyle Carozza returned to the mound against MIT to help the Seahawks complete a 5-2 victory from a game suspended on March 28. The regularly-scheduled doubleheader versus the Engineers had been for Saturday, March 29, but forecast foul weather precipitated a move to a day earlier. MIT won Game 1, 13-3, in seven innings, and the teams reached the Top of the 4th of Game 2 with the Seahawks leading, 2-0.

Today, Elliot Hamilton stepped to the plate with the bases empty, two outs, and a 2-2 count. He worked a walk and was lifted for pinch-runner Nate Ruehs who was caught stealing to end the half inning.

Carozza continued his work without allowing an earned run through the seventh frame. Meanwhile, the Seahawks doubled their advantage with two runs in the sixth before the Engineers added two unearned runs in the bottom of the inning. Hunter Yaworski's sacrifice fly in the ninth plated Grady Schopps with the fifth run.
