PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Daniel Bourdeau (Cheshire, Conn.), Liam Cooney (Portsmouth, R.I.) and Jack Naglieri (Westhampton Beach, N.Y.) from the Salve Regina University men's lacrosse team represented the Seahawks at the 2025 NEILA East-West Senior All-Star Game, held Friday, May 30, at Chapey Field at Anderson Stadium on the campus of Providence College.
Fifty-one players from DI, DII and DIII competed in this year's All-Star Game. All players and coaches were nominated by the head coaches within the NEILA. Players were then ranked and selected by a committee, awarding seniors from all three NCAA Divisions who played their college career in the New England region. Cooney and Naglieri joined the East team while Bourdeau competed for the West team.
"Congratulations to Dan, Liam, and Jack on being selected to the 2025 NEILA East-West game," remarked Salve Regina head men's lacrosse coach Patrick Cooney. "It's a well-deserved honor for all three team captains, who have been a big part of the team success on the field and in the classroom. In many ways they represent the tip of the spear always competing against the opponents best. I am so proud of them and their graduating classmates. We will miss them all but look forward to hearing of their future successes."
Bourdeau completed his career with 59 games played and 51 games started as a defenseman. Cooney finished up five years with 73 games played, 126 goals, 56 assists and 182 total points at attack. Naglieri, a defenseman, also completed five years with 74 games played and 19 total points.
"This is a great opportunity to highlight the college careers of these young men. For many, it is one last time for them to play an organized game against such high competition. It is also a chance to compete with players you may have battled against throughout your college career," said Tim Murphy, head coach of Johnson & Wales, president of NEILA and coordinator of the East-West All-Star team selection."
Salve Regina advanced to the NEWMAC tournament second round in 2025. This was the team's highest finish since joining the NEWMAC conference.
