NEWPORT, R.I. -- (Tuesday, September 23, 2025) -- The first Grinold Chapter New England Division III Football Coaches poll of the 2025 season has been released, and Salve Regina University leads a group of four New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference teams in the poll. The Conference of New England features three teams in the poll.

The Seahawks received eight of 11 first place votes to top Endicott College, which received the only other first-place vote, by 28 points in the poll. Tufts University sits in third place. Williams College is fourth and the University of New England is fifth in this week's rankings. The poll is rounded out by Plymouth State, MIT, Western New England, Coast Guard and a 10th place tie between Springfield and Framingham.

The New England Division III Football Poll is presented by the Jack Grinold/Eastern Massachusetts Chapter of the National Football Foundation, which also serves as the title sponsor of the weekly Gold Helmet Awards presented by the New England Football Writers Association throughout the season.

"It's great to start the year at 3-0 and to have my coaching peers put us at the top of the poll for the first poll of the season is a thing of honor.  But the tough part is now we have to back it up going forward." -- SEAHAWK HEAD COACH KEVIN GILMARTIN

A panel representing four New England Division III playing conferences will serve as voters in this year's poll, and rankings will be released each week through November 18th. Members of this year's voting panel are Nat Clark (Husson), Jason Lebeau (Western New England), Mike Lichten (University of New England), Jeremy Cameron (Massachusetts Maritime), Tom Kelley (Framingham), and Joe Verria (Bridgewater), Jack Cosgrove (Colby), Jeff Devanney (Trinity), Jay Civetti (Tufts), Kevin Gilmartin (Salve Regina), C.C.
