MARLBOROUGH, Mass. - The NEWMAC has announced its Athlete of the Week honorees for the week ending April 12, 2026, and Salve Regina University senior attackman Daniel Naglieri (Westhampton Beach, N.Y.) and senior goalie William Kein have been selected as Offensive Athlete of the Week and Defensive Player of the Week for men's lacrosse respectively.
Naglieri had seven goals on 13 shots (.538%) and an assist for eight points in a senior day win over Clark. He leads the NEWMAC in goals per game with a 3.45 per game average and is second in points per game with a 4.82 average per game.
"Dan had an outstanding game Saturday, taking advantage of the opportunities presented," said head men's lacrosse coach Patrick Cooney. He controlled the tempo as well as shot exceptionally well. It was especially rewarding to see him compete so well on senior day. Dan has been such an important part of our program for the last four years. On and off the field, he is an incredible student-athlete."
Kein anchored the Salve defense in an 18-7 Senior Day victory over Clark, recording 15 saves while allowing just seven goals over 51 minutes of action. The senior posted a .681 save percentage while facing consistent pressure, and added four ground balls to contribute to transition. His 15-save performance marked one of his strongest outings of the season and played a key role in securing the Seahawks' win.
"Will was terrific in goal Saturday," remarked Cooney. "He not only saved the ball at a high rate but lead a transition offense that excelled in early O. It was especially rewarding to see him compete so well on senior day. Will has been such an important part of our program for the last four years. On and off the field, he is an incredible student-athlete."
