MARLBOROUGH, Mass. - The NEWMAC has announced its Athlete of the Week honorees for the week ending May 3, 2026, and Salve Regina University sophomore Dylan Cimini has been selected as the Athlete of the Week for baseball.

Sophomore Dylan Cimini (Stonington, Conn.) started with a 4-for-5 night against MIT on Tuesday in Waltham, Massachusetts. He capped his week with a go-ahead two-run homer as the Seahawks completed their regular season with a 34-4 mark. Cimini had multiple hits in four of five games and multiple RBI in all five. He finished the week with 13 hits in 25 at-bats (.520) while driving in 14 runs (nearly half of his season total, 33) in five games. He also swiped two bags in a 5-0 week.

Seahawk head coach Eric Cirella '05 on Cimini: "Dylan has come up huge for us down the stretch. He's worked hard this offseason to put himself in a great position to contribute, and has taken advantage of these opportunities. It's a great time of year to be living off the barrel as a hitter, so we're hoping this continues into the next few weeks."

Salve Regina (34-4, 14-2 NEWMAC) finishes its regular season with a five-game week including three NEWMAC road games -- tomorrow versus MIT, and a Saturday twinbill against Emerson College -- all at Stein Diamond on the campus of Brandeis University. A pair of home games on Reynolds Field with UMass Boston visiting on Wednesday and last year's NCAA First Round opponent, Keene State College, coming to Newport on Sunday. All games scheduled to broadcast on FloCollege.
