NEWPORT, R.I.-- The Salve Regina Seahawks showcased their strength and skill in a commanding victory over Plymouth State, clinching a decisive 62-17 win. The match began with a spark as sophomore Lexie Antonelli opened the scoring, setting the tone for a dominant performance.
In the first half senior Haylee Morrison was a standout, crossing into the try zone twice and successfully converting three kicks. Junior Scrumhalf Autumn Frost also made her mark, scoring a try and later earning a hat-trick with two additional tries in the second half. Just before halftime, senior captain Izzy John was awarded a penalty try, pushing the Seahawks to a commanding 33-5 lead at the break.
The second half saw further contributions from the team, with senior Maddie Walent, junior Seton Smith, and sophomore Laura Lozano each adding to the scoreline. Morrison added two more conversions, solidifying the Seahawks' lead.
Autumn Frost's exceptional performance earned her the Woman of the Match award, highlighting her crucial role in the team's success.
Looking ahead, the nationally ranked #15 ranked Seahawks will host the nationally ranked #1 ranked Endicott Gulls next Saturday, promising an exciting clash for the fans.
