Salve sends off seniors victorious 56-5

NEWPORT, R.I. -- On Saturday, April 20, at Fort Adams, the Salve Regina women's rugby team emerged victorious over the visiting Bentley University Falcons 56-5.

Senior captain Sam Bertrand, graduate student Dakota Benson and freshman Lexie Antonelli lead the team in scoring with two tries each.

Senior captain Allie Houle added three conversions and senior Sarah Holcomb added a try herself.

The remaining tries were scored by a trio of juniors in Haylee Morrison, Jazly Alcantara and Izzy John.

The game ball was awarded to Izzy and Ava John. The match was played as a fundraiser for the Leukemia and Lymphoma foundation and in honor of the John's sister Sophia, who was also a student at Bentley University.

The Seahawks will wrap up their season this weekend at the 39th annual Beast of the East rugby tournament held at the Portsmouth polo fields in Portsmouth, RI.
