SOUTH HADLEY, Mass. (Wednesday, June 5, 2024) -- Salve Regina University men's lacrosse senior Max Beauchamp (Saunderstown, R.I.) and graduate students Kieran Hughes (Oradell, N.J.) and Brendan Treacy (Danvers, Mass.) have been tabbed to compete in the 2024 NEILA East-West Senior All-Star Game.
"Congratulations to Beauchamp, Hughes, and Treacy for being selected to compete in the NEILA East-West Senior All-Star Game," exclaimed head coach Patrick Cooney. "The game is at Roger Williams University Bayside Field at 7:00 p.m., this Friday, June 7."
The roster is comprised of 46 athletes representing DI, DII and DIII teams across New England. NEILA member head coaches voted to select the 2024 competitors and coaching staff. Graduating seniors and graduate students are considered for the team, those returning for a 2024-25 graduate year are ineligible. In 2023 Seahawks' Rocco Mazzei, Max Van Winkle, and Ryan Reilly Represented Salve Regina at the event.
"This is a great opportunity to highlight the college careers of these young men," said Tim Murphy, head coach of Johnson & Wales, president of NEILA and coordinator of the East-West All-Star team selection. "For many, it is one last time for them to play an organized game against such high competition. It is also a chance to compete with players you may have battled against throughout your college career."
Hughes is set to compete on the west team, as one of two face-off specialists. Across five years as a Seahawk Hughes appeared in 50 games, won 401 of 725 face-offs, grabbed 254 ground balls and scored five goals.
Beauchamp and Treacy will play for the east team, both as midfielders. While at Salve Regina Beauchamp played in 41 games, scored 60 goals and 66 assists for a combined 126 points, nabbed 67 ground palls and caused 17 turnovers. He was named to the 2024 NEWMAC All-Conference Second Team.
Treacy donned the Seahawk uniform for 60 total games, scored 61 goals and 48 assists for 109 points, picked up 84 ground balls and caused 23 turnovers.
The west team will be coached by Hunter Gervais (Clark University), John Murray (Post University), and Will Cullen (University of Saint Joseph). The east will be manned by George Diantgikis (Bentley University), Kyle LaForge (Lasell University), and Matt Gilbert (Saint Joseph's College of Maine).
