WESTWOOD, Mass. -- (Monday, September 30, 2024)-- The NEWMAC has announced its athletes of the week for September 23-29 and Salve Regina University junior
Julia Decker has claimed field hockey Offensive Athlete of the Week.
"Julia had a breakout week for us in the offensive circle," said head coach
Jennifer Foster. "She is relied on as a finisher for us. She also works well with her fellow forwards in creating fast breaks and keeping opponent's defense on their heels."
Last week Decker led Salve Regina through two wins, moving the team to 8-0 on the season. Against the Nichols College Bison Decker scored four goals and had one assist. The Seahawks went on to defeat the Bison 8-0. The following Saturday, Decker scored the opening two goals against NEWMAC opponent Smith College, in a game that ended 4-2 in favor of Salve Regina.
