NEWPORT, R.I. (Monday, August 4, 2025) -- Salve Regina University head women's volleyball coach
Sebastian Noordzy has announced the
2025 season will begin on the road with a non-conference match against the University of Hartford on Saturday, August 30, at 1 p.m.
The
Rodgers Recreation Center will continue to house Salve volleyball as the team enters their third season as a member of the NEWMAC conference. The Seahawks will play their first four games of the season on the road. Connecticut College, University of Southern Maine and Husson University will follow Hartford respectively. The home opener will be against Rhode Island rival, Roger Williams University, on Tuesday, September 9, at 6 p.m.Â
Â
"Every season brings new challenges and opportunities, and this year is no different — we're fired up and ready to compete," said Noordzy. "Our non-conference slate features some familiar matchups from last season along with every DIII team in Rhode Island. We're looking to make a strong statement in those games and set the tone early."
Salve will open it's conference slate against Clark University on the road on Tuesday, September 23, at 7 p.m. In the first home NEWMAC game of the year Emerson College will make the trip to Newport for a 7 p.m. game on Tuesday, September 30.
Â
"The NEWMAC is always a battle, and we know we'll need to bring our best every match," continued Noordzy. "After last year's program-best showing in conference play, our goal is to take the next step — and that means earning a spot in the postseason."
