MARLBOROUGH, Mass. - The NEWMAC has announced its Athlete of the Week honorees for the week ending March 1, 2026, and Salve Regina University sophomore Nolan Romanowski has been selected as the Pitcher of the Week for baseball.

Sophomore Nolan Romanowski (Wynantskill, N.Y.) had a pair of starts for the Seahawks (4-1) and allowed just one run over 14 innings, limiting the opposition to eight hits while striking out 11 batters. The 2-and-0 right-hander threw 153 pitches over the two starts and issued just two free passes.

Seahawk head coach Eric Cirella '05 on Romanowski: "Romo continues to pound the strike zone and frustrate opposing hitters. He gives us a huge boost every time he toes the rubber and yesterday was no exception. The pitch-ability and command is off the charts, he keeps our defense involved, and gets us back in the dugout quickly so we can focus on scoring runs. That's a good recipe right there."

Salve Regina (4-1; 0-0 NEWMAC) hosts University of Southern Maine this weekend in a three-game series with all games scheduled to broadcast on FloCollege.
