MARLBOROUGH, Mass. - The NEWMAC has announced its Athlete of the Week honorees for the week ending March 22, 2026, and Salve Regina University sophomore Nolan Romanowski has been selected as the Pitcher of the Week for baseball.

Sophomore Nolan Romanowski (Wynantskill, N.Y.) improved to 4-0 on the season with a complete-game effort in the final Florida game for the No. 4-ranked Seahawks. He struck out four Royals and lowered his season earned run average to 1.67.

Seahawk head coach Eric Cirella '05 on Romanowski: "Nolan continues to compete in the strike zone, with a number of different pitches, and he always gives us a chance to win.  He also makes it hard on the other team by getting us in the dugout relatively quickly so we can focus on scoring runs.  He is a huge part of our pitching staff and I hope he continues his current trend."

Salve Regina (10-1; 0-0 NEWMAC) hosts WPI on Wednesday in the league opener followed by a road game at Eastern Connecticut State on Thursday and a NEWMAC doubleheader with Wheaton on Reynolds Field on Saturday. If the weather cooperates, the Seahawks finish the week with two at the University of Southern Maine on Sunday with all games scheduled to broadcast on FloCollege.
