Salve Regina University

Mark Zarek had two memorable years with the Salve Regina baseball program. He led the NCAA Division III in batting average both seasons (.485 in 1984; .529 in 1985) while also topping all Division III players with doubles (0.67 per game in 1984) and home runs (0.52 per game in 1985). The power-hitting catcher arrived from Mitchell Junior College in 1983 and helped bring Salve Regina its first conference championship (1985).
