In 14 seasons as the Salve Regina baseball head coach, Steve Cirella produced the most wins in program history (318). Winning two conference championships in seven CCC finals appearances, Cirella guided the Seahawks to their first two NCAA appearances (2001, 2005). Along the way the three-time CCC Coach of the Year recruited and coached All-Americans (4), Academic All-Americans® (4), dozens of conference players/pitchers/rookies/scholars of the year, an equal number of all-region honorees, and a trio of NCAA record-holders. His 2006 squad became the first to eclipse the 30-win mark (32-13; .711); that same season set a record for most conference wins (17).
