A four-year starter in football, Matt Kestler keyed an offensive line that produced three conference titles and the program’s first two football postseason appearances (1996, 1998) with the latter giving Salve Regina a 36-6 win at Toppa Field. Leading the team to a 33-6 (.818) mark during his four-seasons playing on the gridiron, Kestler earned all-conference accolades in final three years and added All-ECAC while captaining the squad as a senior. His two seasons on the diamond at first base, Salve Regina won two league titles and the program’s first postseason appearance. His coaching success extends throughout Aquidneck Island as the Middletown native guided Rogers baseball to its first state title in 48 years, and his former high school to a state championship in football in 2023.
