BREAKDOWN:
Salve Regina's Edie Threshie achieved the first goal of the day on a free position shot and was followed up by Kayli Garcia (from Stella McCormack) five minutes later. The Sharks were the next to strike in the second period, responding with two goals of their own for a 2-2 tie. Holly Sullivan (from Trinity Custodia) and Alix Madden (Kayli Garcia) both netted goals, for a countermove but as the clock ticked down Simmons made it a one-point game with a score of 4-3 and the Seahawks still leading.
Kayli Garcia (from Edie Threshie) and Samantha Moleti (from Edie Threshie) scored in the remaining two periods. The Seahawks allowed one additional Shark goal but still maintained their two-point lead, making it a 6-4 final score.
NOTEWORTHY:
- Grace Haesche is the winning goalkeeper. Haesche posted seven saves.
- The Seahawks outshot the Sharks 17-15.
- Both Salve Regina and Simmons posted 31 turnovers.
