Flynn Kayajan- NEWMAC Defensive Player of the Week // Apr. 13-19

MARLBOROUGH, Mass. - The NEWMAC has announced its Athlete of the Week honorees for the week ending April 19, 2026, and Salve Regina University sophomore goalie Mary Flynn Kayajan (Hyannis, MA) has been selected as Defensive Player of the Week for women's lacrosse.

Kayajan totaled 22 saves in a 1-1 week. In the loss to Babson, Kayajan made 10 saves, and in the 13-6 victory over Clark, she posted 12. She also picked up two ground balls on the week. In 2026 she has made 141 saves, picked up 19 ground balls and has eight wins. 

"Flynn came up big when it mattered most - steady, confident, and a true difference-maker in goal all week, making key saves and leading the defense every step of the way," said head women's lacrosse coach Meg Malloy.

The Seahawks will be back at Gaudet Field in the final game of the 2026 regular season on Wednesday, April 22, at 6 p.m. The Seahawks host the Bears of the United States Coast Guard Academy.
